TRIVIA:
- SRB stands for 'styrofoam rattle box'.

WORDS FROM KRISTIN:
"That one always makes us cry. We were living in this neighborhood called "the grotto" - which is why I called the record that - to make sure that my mother lived through this death that was hard for all of us. A very strange place to be, pregnant, thinking about life and death at the same time, so that line about the child crying and the smoker dying always gets us."

"SRB"
(written by Kristin Hersh)

Head first into the headboard
I'm shatter-proof
But cranial impact taps something true
If I could grab your attention with my styrofoam rattle box
You'd smile away my transgression
And tap something lost
A spitball to the ribcage
My useless hard head
We're slap-happy the livelong day,
Neck and neck
If I could grab the man on the street with my raspy rattle plan
My only personal property a raspy, whispered plan
A bottle-green sky,
Stinging yellow hair
In a dizzy of deviation,
Giddy in the glare
If I could grab this whirlygig and keep it in my arms
We'd persevere through what is here,
And morn what is gone
A smoker's gasp
And a child's howl
Cut through the air
Drown out all other sound

Fireworks for you in the ozone snow.
