WORDS FROM KRISTIN:
- "This is a song that's actually a list of phrases my sister and I overheard in a bar. We were looking at a pair of other sisters and feeling really happy that we weren't them. Grateful to each other, you know? And then we realized, the more we drank, that everybody was saying cool shit and we should be writing it down on the cocktail napkins, which is what we did. So this song is essentially a list, making it a fake song. Sorry."

- "We had an unfortunate incident with some T-shirts, where Throwing Muses had asked the T-shirt company to use their lyrics, incorporate them in the designs for the T-shirts, and um, unfortunately the only lyric they used was the word "jailbait" from that song, which didn't even make it onto the record. So this band with two little girls standing up front, Throwing Muses: Jailbait."

"Cottonmouth"
(written by Kristin Hersh)

Take my sister out of here
Screw this bar
Put my sister in your car
Who called me jailbait?
Who called me jailbait?
Who called me jailbait here?
Put my sister in your care
Take her out of here
Don't call me jailbait
Don't call me jailbait
Don't call me jailbait here
You snake
You cottonmouth
You snake, cottonmouth
I hope you remember me this way
I hope you remember me this way
The more he likes me, the more I drink
I think the more I drink, the more he likes me
I got the shakes
I got the shakes
I got the shakes
You snake
You cottonmouth
You snake, cottonmouth
I still wanna drive you to the wall
I still wanna drive you to the wall
I still wanna drive you to the wall

Don't worry, dance in the road.
