WORDS FROM KRISTIN:
- "I wrote this in the Mojave desert, where we just finished living. Where our neighbors built their own cars and stuff. And literally saw UFO's - well, I don't know if "literally" - literally said they saw UFO's in our back yard, called the cops to shoo 'em away. It was hard for my kids to fall asleep there because they weren't used to the silence, or the noise. The coyotes, coyotes don't go "howl" in the distance, they stand in your yard - I won't even make the sound that they make because it would scare you too much, as it did my children. And then the neighbors get mad at the coyotes and start shootin'. Like that helped. They weren't shooting at them, they were just shooting about them. And then their dogs would get upset 'cause they were shooting about the coyotes, the dogs would start going haywire, and the coyotes would get upset and yell louder... Anyway, I had to write a lullaby."

- "This is one of the few songs of mine that you can take literally."

"White Trash Moon"
(written by Kristin Hersh)

The neighbor's dog won't let you sleep
Try not to stare at the neighbors' hair
Out of the chaos, my us
And your daddy's fingernail
Your mama's here and your daddy's hot
So hush-a-bye, baby don't you cry
Out of the chaos, my us
And your little fontanel
Ten thousand miles of moonscape
Don't keep anybody awake after all
Close to the source on a white trash moon
Under the horny sun of July
The neighbor's gun won't let you sleep
Try not to stare at their underwear
Out of the chaos, my us
And the coyote's lonely wail
Ten thousand miles of moonscape
Don't keep anybody awake after all
Close to the source on a white trash moon
Under the horny sun of July

Fireworks for you in the ozone snow.
